Categories
Categories provide an optional secondary label for your shapes, separate from teams. Use them to add context like "Phase 1", "Urgent", or "Residential" — they appear on shape cards in the sidebar and Management Panel.
Categories are managed per shape from the shape popup form. There is currently no dedicated category overview panel or grouped category view — this is planned for a future update.
Where Categories Appear
Once assigned, a shape's category is visible in:
- Shape popup form — shown in the Category dropdown when you open a shape
- Sidebar → Shapes tab — displayed as a tag label on each shape card
- Management Panel → Shapes list — shown beneath the shape title
Categories do not affect shape colour and are not yet filterable by category group — that functionality is coming in a future release.
Default Categories
Every project starts with three built-in categories:
- Residential — Housing areas
- Commercial — Business districts
- Other — Miscellaneous
